Every Day is Play. 'A celebration of the video game' - Fully Funded!

About a month ago I posted on here and our social medias about a kickstarter project to fund a book about about gaming. The book is called: Every Day is Play. ‘A celebration of the video game’ and is as it says on the tin a celebration of all things video games and gaming.

The project created by Matt & Emma two designers/artworkers/consultants and nintendo addicts!!! The book features allsorts of cool interesting contents such as interviews, design, illustration from video game/design goliath’s such as Konami, Build, Buro destruct, The Designers Republic, and many more.

This kickstarter project reached over £10,000 more than expected through various bloggers, gamers, and lots of hard graft and hustle from Matt & Emma. Big ups to Matt and Emma for reaching the goal and to everybody who contributed a few sheckles to the cause.

I’m really looking forward to getting my copy when its available !! So power up that 64bit, eat a mushroom, collect ya self a gold coin, grab a lil’ flag and give your buddy a hardooken high five!!

RadioEject x Stereo MC’s ‘Spatial Awareness mixtape’

RadioEject x Stereo MC’s ‘Spatial Awareness mixtape’

This month’s RadioEject exclusive guest mix is a very special one indeed!! This month brings us all a very special ‘Spatial Awareness’ mix tape brought to you by Rob Birch of the brit award winning ‘Stereo MC’s’ .

If you don’t know who the ‘Stereo MC’s’ are you’ve probably been living in a underground tunnel for the past couple of decades, surviving off of licking mossy rock faces for nourishment. Formed in Nottinghamshire between two friends the ‘Stereo MC’s’ have gone a long way from humble streets. The ‘Stereo MC’s’ blew up in the British charts, in the minds of the people and across the globe in the late 80s and 90’s…originally consisting of the two creating members, Rob Birch and Nick Hallam. Stereo MC’s we’re pretty much Britain’s first global rap stars, rocking stages, working with or producing across the globe with the likes of U2, Janes Addiction, De La Soul, Happy Mondays, Peter Gabriel, Madonna and even the Jungle Brothers. And being one of the first Rap/hiphop groups to ever perform at British rock festivals…you young upstarts starting on your journey to festivaldom need to doff your snapbacks in respect to these trailblazers of UK hiphop.

The Stereo MC’s 1992 single ‘Connected’ burst through the speakers and echoed across the globe with their first top 20 hit…rippling them to number 2 in the British album charts and almost a year charting, the Stereo MC’s we’re here!! I remember my brother and I eating our cereal to ‘Connected’ on MTV singing along, then getting to school with the other kids singing it in the yards allday. Mixing breakbeat, funk, hiphop, electro, dub step ,dance, lyrical poetry and neck breaking beats the Stereo MC’s can be a bit tricky to pin down to one sound…a little bit like us here at Ejecto’s…diverse styles and a strong sense of perfectionists working towards some breaking of rules and regulations.

Stick em' up punk

This weekend our Liverpool based buddy ‘Beta’ of TDA klan called us up to see if I wanted some of the Yorkshire massive down to Liverpool…they all flopped apart from myself and fellow can technician Ziel…So we caught a early morning lift to Liverpool via the National depressed.

It’s always good to go back to my old stomping/stamping grounds to see the scouseside writers!! Many of the younger wave of writers were influenced by some of my demon buddies throughout their cool city…and seeing these guys now painting and painting burners is really good to see. Top chaps the lot of em!!

Ziel and I then met up with Beta and Cruel and commenced to prime our wall in the nasty British rain…Several soaked sketchbooks later, a few knocked over Heinekens and soggy rizlas later we persevered through the rain and painted a nice wall.

Big ups to Beta, Cruel, Ziel, Fish, Nate, Sy, and any others who I have forgot. Good day, now to dry off the sketchbook!

Just found out KAWS redesigned the MTV VMA’s moonman and graphics. I’m a lil slow on the mark on things like the VMA’s…We stopped watching years ago when weak videos were winning over the likes of Video Legends such as ‘Spike Jonze’ .

Saying that though it’s dope to see Kaws stealing the show with his dope character. We’ve been big fans of Kaws ever since we first his works and It’s crazy to see KAWS redesigning the VMA moonman, that’s big things for the graffiti community.

Big ups Kaws keep smashing the world!!
